Early Enrollment Appeal Process Information

Parents/Guardians Who Are New to Mt. Vernon & Live in the District

Here are the steps to enroll a new in-district student for the 2025–2026 school year. 
Please Note: Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens on March 30 at noon.

• Parents/guardians who need to enroll a new child at Mt. Vernon and have other children currently attending Mt. Vernon can enroll their child by visiting their Skyward Family Access and selecting "New Student." Living within the district boundaries (Vernon & Buck Creek Townships) enables students to automatically attend Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation (MVCSC) schools. 
• Parents/guardians who do not have any children currently attending a Mt. Vernon school should click the button below to begin the enrollment process.

New Student Online Enrollment

Please refer to the “Required Documents” section for a list of items that must be uploaded to the online enrollment application or submitted to the school/registrar.

The 2025-2026 school year is closed for new out-of-district/transfer students.

STEP 1: Any out-of-district student who wishes to attend any Mt. Vernon school during the 2026-2027 school year MUST fill out an out-of-district application between March 6 – June 26. STEP 2: AFTER applying and receiving an email confirmation of your acceptance: 

• Parents/guardians who need to enroll a new child at Mt. Vernon and have other children currently attending Mt. Vernon can enroll their child by visiting their Skyward Family Access and selecting "New Student." 
• Parents/guardians who do not have any children currently attending a Mt. Vernon school should click the button below to begin the enrollment process.

New Student Online Enrollment

These documents are required to be uploaded to the online enrollment application OR submitted to the school/registrar.

Required Documents:

• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Copy of Immunization Records (Click HERE for required immunizations for the 2026-2027 school year)
• Proof of Residency with Name & Address (proof of legal settlement consisting of a new home purchase agreement, mortgage statement, rental agreement, property tax statement, voter registration card or two current utility bills dated within 60 days of student enrollment).
• Parent/Guardian Driver's License or State-Issued Identification Card
• Only if applicable:
  • Any pertinent health-related documents (e.g. emergency action plans or diabetes medical management plans)
  • Copy of Court Papers (if there is any pertinent custody information for the child)
  • Individual Education Plan (IEP)
