Mt. Vernon School Corporation (MVCSC) is proud to announce that Mt. Vernon High School (MVHS) has been ranked a “US News Best High School” for 2026-2027, marking the seventh consecutive year. The school received an 87.31 score, ranking in the top 13% nationally among the almost 18,000 public high schools ranked by the US News & World Report. Additionally, MVHS ranked high in the state and metro area, placing 47th in Indiana and 16th among Indianapolis metro area high schools. High schools are rated based on a variety of factors in order to assess how well the school serves students. These factors include graduation rate, overall student performance, and college preparation, sourcing data from the College Board, Common Core of Data from the U.S. Department of Education, and state testing scores, with the data coming from the 2023-2024 school year. With an 87.1% Percentile Score on the SAT and other state evaluations, MVHS was also recognized for exceeding the expectations for overall student performance.
