MVHS Earns Indiana State School Music Association All-Music Award

Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation (MVCSC) is proud to announce that the Mt. Vernon High School (MVHS) music program has been recognized with the 2025–2026 Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) All-Music Award. This prestigious honor celebrates schools that demonstrate exceptional achievement, commitment, and support for comprehensive music education through outstanding choir and band programs.
MVHS was one of only 16 high schools across Indiana to receive the coveted Total Department All-Music Award, recognizing excellence across all areas of the school's music program. The achievement also marks the fifth consecutive year that the MVHS Band has earned an ISSMA music award. Over the past decade, the band program has received ISSMA recognition in eight of the last ten years, reflecting a sustained tradition of musical excellence.
Recipients of ISSMA's All-Music Awards for Band, Orchestra, and Choral programs are evaluated based on a variety of criteria, including superior performances in competition, significant musical accomplishments throughout the school year, and strong support for music education. The Total Department Award represents the highest level of recognition, honoring schools that excel across all music disciplines.
This distinction is a testament to the dedication, talent, and collaborative efforts of MVHS students, directors, staff, families, and community supporters. MVCSC proudly celebrates this achievement and remains committed to providing exceptional opportunities in music education. The success of the MVHS music program exemplifies the district's mission to Engage, Educate, and Empower every student to grow, succeed, and thrive.
