Mt. Vernon's Data Steward, Kathy Reed, Receives Skyward Leader in Excellence Award
Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation is proud to announce an exceptional achievement: Data Steward Kathy Reed has been named a recipient of the 2026 Leader in Excellence Award by Skyward, the district’s data administration provider for the past 16 years. Reed, along with the other 2026 Leader in Excellence Award recipients, was recognized during the 23rd Innovators Conference (iCon), which took place February 25–27, 2026, in St. Pete Beach, Florida.
This honor recognizes Reed for consistently going above and beyond in her role. From leading training sessions, creating helpful guides, and providing ongoing support to staff—including training for new teachers—to contributing to both national and state Skyward conferences, Reed represents Mt. Vernon with excellence.
Reed was formally recognized during the March Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation Board of Trustees meeting. Superintendent Dr. Parker recognized the significance of the recognition, shared information from her 17 nominations, and praised her accomplishments and dedication.
“Her foresight, collaboration, and unwavering commitment make her indispensable. Recognizing Kathy with this award is not only well deserved, but also a celebration of the vital role she plays every single day,” Dr. Parker shared.
Reed is a dedicated leader within the district and works to ensure that all staff feel confident using the Skyward system.
“When the district opened its sixth school, Kathy and her team managed a massive data migration with minimal disruptions, a feat that speaks to her skill and dedication. She doesn't just solve problems; she anticipates them, offering solutions before others even realize there’s an issue,” Dr. Parker added.
Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation is proud of Reed for receiving this honor and for continuing to set a powerful example for others while positively impacting students, staff, and parents across the district._1773250423.jpg)
