Families looking for a top-tier education in a thriving, innovative school district now have the opportunity to apply for out-of-district enrollment at Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation for the 2026-2027 school year.

With growing enrollment and expanded facilities, MVCSC is excited to welcome new students into its dynamic learning environment.

All out-of-district/transfer students who wish to attend or are currently attending a Mt. Vernon school must submit an application during the application window for the 2026–2027 school year. If you live in any MVCSC enrollment area, you do NOT need to complete this application.

As Superintendent Dr. Parker has previously shared, once you are a Mt. Vernon student/family, those students who apply (and their siblings/step-siblings) will remain part of the Mt. Vernon family, unless the student has major discipline or attendance issues.

The 2026-2027 Out-of-District/Transfer Student Application will be live HERE between:

Noon on Friday, March 6, through Noon on Friday, June 26

Parents/guardians will need to complete a separate application for each student who currently lives outside the school district or who anticipates moving out of the district before the 2026-2027 school year begins.
By completing the application, you are requesting to attend Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation during the 2026-2027 school year. This does not guarantee enrollment, but priority will be given to current out-of-district/transfer students, their siblings/step-siblings, as well as employees' children. 

Once your family is part of our Mt. Vernon family, all transfer/out-of-district students who submit an application will be invited back the following year (with the possible exception of a few students with significant discipline or attendance issues). Notices of approval or non-approval will be sent approximately within two weeks of applying. Thank you for being part of Mt. Vernon Schools! 

GUIDELINES FOR ALL OUT-OF-DISTRICT/TRANSFER APPLICATIONS:

1. All applications must be submitted online and before the final deadline of Friday, June 26, at noon.
2. Applications are only for one school year, must be filled out for each child, and must be resubmitted each year.
3. All applications will be date/time stamped upon submission, processed in the order in which they are received, and considered on a case-by-case basis.
4. A "new Mt. Vernon family" is defined as a family with zero children or step-children currently attending a Mt. Vernon school.
5. Applications from employees’ children and from current out-of-district or transfer students, including siblings and step-siblings, will receive priority consideration.
6. If you live in one elementary school region and wish to attend a different elementary school, you do not need to fill out the application; rather, email both elementary school principals and make this request for their consideration.
7. Out-of-district/transfer Mini-Marauder Preschool students who are either returning or are siblings of a current Mt. Vernon student also need to fill out the application.
8. Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation is accepting out-of-district/transfer students for the upcoming school year, as adopted by Corporation Policy C125.
