All Hancock County public schools' administration and board members were in attendance, along with representatives from South Madison and Shelby Eastern districts.
The educational topics ranged in a wide variety, such as new graduation/diploma requirements, future employment opportunities, and funding improvements for schools. Several schools thanked the legislative panel for their efforts and positive advancements they have made in education, including the favorable funding changes and the Teacher Appreciation Funds.
Other topics that were discussed included ESSA, district consolidation, mental health advancements in education, Core 40 requirements, school calendars, and of course, the new ISTEP test called ILEARN.
The lively discussion was appreciated by all attendees and proved to be a fruitful exchange of commonalities and developments in education. The Mt.
