Graduation 2023

The 2022-2023 school year has reached its end, and Mt. Vernon High School (MVHS) class of 2023 graduates celebrated with a commencement ceremony. Exactly 312 students were asked to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, recounting all their hard work and dedication. The commencement ceremony took place at the Mt. Vernon High School Hancock Health Stadium. Administrators and the School Board of Trustees congratulated each graduate.

Highlights of the evening included the prelude and National Anthem played by the Mt. Vernon High School band under the direction of Ms. Jackie Nason. The MVHS Band and Choir played a musical selection, followed by the opening remarks from MVHS Assistant Principals, Mrs. Anita Glaze and Mr. Stan Wilkison, along with Interim Principal, Mr. Bernie Campbell.

The salutatory address was given by Erica Conley and the valedictory address was given by Ella Hubbell. The top academic students and senior class officers received their diplomas first, followed by the rest of their classmates alphabetically.
