Preschool Enrollment OPEN NOW! (In-District Only)
It’s time! Preschool enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is open for in-district preschoolers through May 19, 2023. The Mt. Vernon Early Learning Academy Mini-Marauder Preschool enrolls children ages 3, 4, and 5 pre-kindergarten. The Mini-Marauder Preschool follows the MVCSC school calendar. The academic day runs from 7:45 am to 2 pm. A limited number of aftercare spots are available from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. Students are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Living within the district boundaries enables students to automatically attend Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation (MVCSC) schools. Please note that this year, enrollment is open to in-district residents only unless the child is already enrolled in the Mini-Marauder Preschool or they are the sibling of a current MV student. Detailed information for these families and out-of-district/transfer enrollment can be found HERE.
Please print and complete the online enrollment packet or stop by the preschool to pick up a packet; online enrollment is not available. The last page of the enrollment packet includes a list detailing the specific documentation to accompany the enrollment. Students enrolling full-time will be given first placement. If there are openings, part-time requests will be accepted. Once classes are full, students will be placed on a waiting list. After submitting the application, families can expect to receive notification of acceptance via email at the beginning of April.
The Mt. Vernon Early Learning Academy Mini-Marauder Preschool recently was reaccredited as a Level 3 Paths to QUALITY™ preschool which is Indiana’s statewide quality rating and improvement system for early care and education. The Mini-Marauder Preschool accomplished several tasks in order to be one of two preschools in Hancock county to reach Level 3. The Mini-Marauder Preschool strives to provide each child with the opportunity for growth intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
The Mini-Marauder Preschool teachers are trained professionals in the field of education. The curricula are research-based and centered around Indiana’s Early Learning Foundations (state academic standards for early childhood). These resources include Creative Curriculum, Handwriting without Tears, Heggerty Phonics, and MVCSC social-emotional learning programming. The importance placed on incorporating staff and family input into the program demonstrates their readiness to grow and improve with new students and circumstances.
Early learning is a valuable component to your child’s future school success. Thank you for your interest in the Mini-Marauder Preschool. Tours are available by appointment.
