November 3rd

Good afternoon!  I hope everyone has had a great week!  Here is what is going on in Kindergarten:

-Blue Folder:

I sent home the November Calendar, the November Family Project, and a half sheet of paper that talks about the snacks your child will be eating for our Thanksgiving Feast.  Our Thanksgiving Feast will be more of a snack time for the kids at the end of the day to celebrate Thanksgiving.

I also put a mini assessment I did with the kids this week in their folder.  It will show you what your child knows at this point in the year after the first report card.

-Tuesday November 7th:  Athletic Day for the letter Aa.  Students can wear athletic clothes.

-Friday November 10th:  Veteran's Day Program/ Students wear red, white, and blue.  The program will be in the afternoon at 1pm.  If you have someone in your family that is a Veteran or currently in the military they are more than welcome to come.  It will be held in the gym.

-Mt.Vernon Schools will again be welcomed by the Pacers at an upcoming game! Our game vs. Boston is December 18th. Packets were sent home last Friday.

-Next week we will be working on:

Reading:  Letters, letter sounds, fiction vs. nonfiction, beginning & ending sounds in words, review all sight words, learn new sight words:  me, come

Writing: Veteran's Day activity, writing words, sounding out words to write, writing sight words, lowercase letters (a, d, g)

Math: 3D shapes, 2D shapes, identifying numbers, counting, weight

Science/Social Studies: Seasons & Veteran's Day

-I have attached the 2nd 9 Weeks Assessment that you can print off and/or look at.  This shows the skills they will be tested on for the next report card at the end of this 9 weeks.

Thank you so much for all that you do!  I really appreciate it!  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  I hope you have a great weekend!
