September 8th

Good afternoon!  I hope everyone had a great week!  September is a crazy month.  We have so much going on that I know it is hard to keep up.  I appreciate your patience as we try to get through these next few weeks leading up into our fall break.  Here is what is going on in Kindergarten:

-Today ipads will be going home with students who turned in the ipad insurance form.  If you need the school ipad charger let me know.  There isn't any work on the ipads that students have to do.  If you choose to get the school's ipad charger please either keep it in your child's book bag or in a safe place at home.  Ipads need to be charged every night and brought back to school everyday.

-Monday September 11th Field Trip money and permission slips are due.

-Tuesday September 12th is Stripes Day to celebrate the letter Ss week.

-September 15th is E-Learning Practice Day.  Your child may wear their pajamas to school.

-Wednesday September 20th is our eLearning day and parent-teacher conferences.  Students will not come to school this day.  Instead they will do work on their ipads at home.  If you haven't done so already please sign up for a time on skyward for the conference.  You will go in through the office and come down to the classroom for these conferences.

-Friday September 22nd is the Walkathon

-Monday, Sept 25 Kindergarten Field Trip to Tuttle's

-Friday, Sept 29 Kindergarten Field Trip to IUPUI

-This week we have experienced some early “fall-like” weather. This warrants an early reminder that students will be going outside daily, as long as it’s not raining. Please send students to school with jackets on these cool days. It would also be most helpful if jackets were labeled with the student’s name on the inside tag. This is the time of year when our “Lost and Found” table piles up.

-Next week we will be focusing on:

Math:  counting, shapes, identifying numbers, ten frames, number stories

Reading:  helping others, letter Ss week, review sight words (I, like, the, and), introduce the sight word "a" and "see,"  read a story from the Journeys student books

Science/Social Studies:  helping others

Writing:  Review frog jump letters, practice writing letters H, K, L, U

Thank you so much for everything you do!  If you have any questions or concerns please let me know!  Have a great weekend!!
