Fortville Elementary School held their second annual Grandparents Day on Friday, November 30th, 2018. Approximately 1,000 guests joined the celebration. The day consisted of students spending quality time with their loved ones while browsing the selection of books at the book fair and making crafts with their grandparents.
Interactive activities included children asking their Grandparents several interview questions such as how many siblings they have, what their favorite school subjects were, and the names of their childhood best friends. Photo opportunities with themed backdrops and props decorated the hallways, and of course cookies and punch were offered.
McCordsville Elementary also had their Grandparents Day celebration on Monday, December 3rd, 2018, and Mt. Comfort Elementary held their celebration earlier in the school year. Mt. Comfort students not only showed their appreciation through quality time with their Grandparents, but also by making crafts and singing them several songs.
For every student, the child and parent/grandparent relationships are important connections. Mt. Vernon fosters these connections through a variety of activities such as the Grandparent’s Day celebrations.
