This year The Indiana Association of School Principals recognized the 2017 Rising Stars of Indiana. These are current juniors nominated by their high schools for their academic achievement. Mt. Vernon High School nominated the following top four juniors pictured above (left to right): Zoe Jenkins, Olivia Spicer, Annie Hermann and Matthew Rollo.
"The Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) is proud to present the 2017 Rising Stars of Indiana. Each Indiana high school was invited to recognize up to four students currently in the 11th grade, based on their academic achievement. The Class of 2018 is surely promised success with these scholars. Please join IASP in congratulating these students on all they have already achieved, as well as offering support and encouragement as they continue their accomplishments and expand their knowledge, growth and leadership skills well into the future," the IASP announced.
Each student will be receiving a Certificate of Achievement, which will be sent to the school next week. At a later date, the program’s College and University sponsors will receive a list of the students who indicated an interest in their school, along with the possible fields of study noted on their submission form."
