Retro Bill Visits Elementary Schools, Courtesy of D.A.R.E

All Mt. Vernon elementary students had an exciting visit by one of the most in demand speakers, Retro Bill, and his team of high school D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) representatives.  Retro Bill is the official international D.A.R.E. Safety Buddy and puts fun into safety, self-esteem and character counts education.  

 

Sargeant Christine Rapp, D.A.R.E. Officer for Hancock County states, "IAF in Greenfield provided the funding for us which allowed us to have him in several different schools.  His message is always entertaining and powerful to the students."

 

His presentation was based on a theme of self-esteem and doing the right thing.  His antics involved the D.A.R.E. high school representatives in his skits that taught students they should make the right choice, even when no one is looking.  He also spoke about feeling good about yourself and supporting others.  Below is a sample of his presentation at McCordsville Elementary School:
