On April 20, Mt. Vernon and the Hancock County Health Department (HCHD) will be offering a vaccine clinic for incoming seniors and 6th graders who are accompanied by a parent/guardian. The vaccine clinic will be located at the Mt. Vernon High School from 3:45 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. HCHD will run the immunization charge through your insurance to make sure the shots are covered. If your insurance doesn't cover immunizations or you don't have insurance, the shots will be FREE!
According to the Indiana State Department of Health, all senior's must have a meningitis booster before starting their senior year. All 6th grade students are required to have the meningitis and a Tdap vaccine before the start of the school year.
