2020-2021 School Board Scholars and Wall of Fame inductees recognized

The title of a School Board Scholar is awarded to students who earn an “A” or an “A+” in every class for the duration of the school year. The students must also be enrolled full time for at least 160 days and have grades for all four quarters of the school year.

Typically a reception is held for the scholars, but due to the pandemic, no social gatherings were able to take place. However, the 2020-2021 School Board Scholars were recognized during the 2021 June School Board Meeting. The “Academic Wall of Fame” was created in 1999 to provide permanent recognition for those who have earned our most coveted academic awards.  The “Wall” preserves the district’s history of educational excellence while motivating future generations to work hard at learning.

The 2020-2021 school year presented many obstacles for students, with increased technology use, virtual meetings, and more learning from home than usual. However, Mt. Vernon students and staff overcame the presented challenges to round out a successful school year. The Mt. Vernon Board of School Trustees congratulates the School Board Scholars and Wall of Fame inductees on their impressive academic achievements during the 2020-2021 school year.
