Comprehensive planning is continuing to take place to keep MVCSC students and staff healthy/safe during the school year. Learning will take place in-person, five days a week during the 2021-2022 school year. There will be some virtual options available for high school students.
Please take care of yourself, and the future of those who are most vulnerable in our community by proper handwashing and taking proper precautions when not feeling well. Remember, your actions impact people you may or may not know.
UPDATE: The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH), whose control measures we have been legally bound to follow, have released additional flexibilities for schools.
IDOH is implementing the following control measures that MVCSC will be following:
Parents/guardians/staff are still asked to share any positive COVID-19 tests with school health services staff as the IDOH is asking schools to continue to isolate positive individuals for at least 5 days.
Bus riders to recommended (not required) to wear masks.
When any school reaches a 10% absentee rate due to illness, we are asked to communicate this with the Hancock County Health Department for further advice.
A negative test or a doctor’s note is no longer required to return to school. Students/staff should not return to school unless they are fever-free (100.0 degrees or less without medication) for at least 24 hours and the symptoms are resolving.
If we receive more information or details in the future, we will provide those to you as soon as we can. Thank you for your support and perseverance during these challenging times. Together, we are stronger as a Mt. Vernon community. Let’s stay positive and support one another Marauders! #WeRMV
