She also led a pilot team and district initiative to bring Trust Based Relational Intervention to the school setting, resulting in improved student regulation behaviors and decreased school discipline.

Muffler shares, “Over the years my passion for curriculum development, alignment and clarity has grown exponentially. I believe my experiences as a classroom teacher, interventionist, assistant principal and principal have prepared me for this position, and I am honored to support our district in this capacity.” Muffler went on to say, "Serving as the principal at Fortville Elementary has been the most rewarding experience of my career. I am excited that I get to follow my professional journey while still supporting the students, families, and staff at my alma mater.”

Prior to becoming principal at Fortville Elementary in 2017, she served as assistant principal and managed the Title 1 grant. From 2014-2016 she served as a Reading Interventionist where she facilitated data meetings focused on student progress and implemented reading interventions, including all Tier III interventions. She began her teaching tenure in 2006 as a kindergarten and first grade teacher at Fortville Elementary School.

Dr. Jack Parker, Superintendent, stated, “Stacy excels in her efforts as a leader in a number of areas, however, her drive for curriculum and instruction is beyond impressive. She deeply understands the results-oriented PLC process and has been a district leader in school improvement, dramatically increasing Fortville Elementary School’s results in the number of students passing the most recent state assessment.”

Muffler is currently seeking her Educational Specialist Degree through Indiana State University. She received her Masters Degree in Educational Supervision and Administration from Ball State University in 2015 and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 2006. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1998.
