MVCSC asked hundreds of community members to attend two meetings from 7 - 8 p.m. on August 27, 2019 and January 21, 2020. At the August meeting, attendees shared their thoughts on the multiple options of growth possibilities, including how grade configurations are assigned in our schools. A group composite of the Mt. Vernon community, including parents, staff, residents, business owners, alumni, grandparents, and residents have been meeting since August to analyse and refine the data gleaned from the full community meeting in August. This group is called the MV Community Champions Advisory Committee, and they have been meeting nearly monthly working hard towards a draft of the Future Growth Plan.
At the March MVCSC School Board meeting, a 10-year Growth Plan will be presented to the board for review.
We greatly appreciate the 317 community members that came to voice their opinions for the future of the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation at the August meeting. The MV Community Champions Advisory Committee and the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation values your opinions and will use them to improve upon our growing district. Thank you for contributing to our Future Growth Plan, we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting on January 21, 2020!
If you were unable to attend in August or would like to review some of the topics that were covered at the meeting, please see the MV Community Champions webpage HERE.
