The Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation (MVCSC) Board of Trustees and the administration are pleased to announce a new partnership with Hancock Health, naming the Mt. Vernon High School turf field as the “Hancock Health Stadium.” The community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony just before the football game begins Friday, August 31 at 7:30 p.m.
This ten-year commitment also includes two digital LED video scoreboards that will be installed in the main high school gym in September. In addition, Hancock Health signage will also be placed throughout the district’s athletic facilities.
The President and CEO of Hancock Health, Steve Long, states, “We are thrilled and proud of our partnership with the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. This collaborative effort with MVCSC allows us to continue our mission of healing, improving health and wellness, alleviating suffering, and delivering acts of kindness one person at a time directly to the Mt. Vernon families and staff.”
Shannon Walls, the MVCSC School Board of Trustees President, shared, “We are so very excited to enter into this partnership with Hancock Health. Our initiatives for our students and their goals for the community are well aligned, as we both seek mentally and physically healthy students and staff. This partnership with Hancock Health is greatly appreciated and provides the support our schools need to continue our academic excellence.”
The MVCSC School Board of Trustees would like to thank the leadership at Hancock Health for their generous support of Mt. Vernon and welcome their staff and families to the first Hancock Health night at this Friday’s football game.
A future recognition ceremony to open the new scoreboards in the MVHS main gym is scheduled for September 24 at the Mt. Vernon High School Volleyball game and at the December 1 Basketball game.
