MVCSC uses the Indiana Department of Education Academic Standards as our curricular framework which can be found here. Curricular teams of teachers have been developed by grade level and academic content areas to identify priority standards and supporting standards based from the Indiana Academic Standards. Our curricular teams use an ongoing curriculum revision process during our scheduled delayed start Wednesday PLCs. During this time curricular teams also create common formative assessments to be used and analysed to gather data to monitor individual student academic growth to ensure all students will learn at high levels.
MVCSC uses NWEA Testing for grades 2-10. Students are tested for growth in the fall, winter and spring. Teachers use NWEA scores to ascertain student abilities, levels of understanding, and to help create differentiated lessons. Teachers use with student placement and curriculum planning.
MVCSC utilizes Edmentum educational programs at all levels. Reading Eggs is used K-5, Exact Path is used K-8, and Study Island is used K-12. Edmentum Plato Courseware is used in grades 6-12.
