NHS Gives Back to Shelters & Orphanages

Although the National Honor Society (NHS) teamed up with Aeropostale for a new/lightly used jeans drive, the real winners were the orphanages and shelters with their basic needs being met.  There are a few perks for all participants however.  The school that donates the most jeans wins $5,000, a private concert and free t-shirts.

Four main purposes of NHS are: to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.  Giving back with community service teaches the students that they can make a difference by helping others.
