MVHS Class of 2019 Graduation

 

The Class of 2019's graduation was a great success with the grMVHS Class of 2019 Graduationaduates, speeches, performances and weather. There were approximately 298 students who walked across the stage to receive their diploma. The graduates seemed ready to move on to their bright futures, prepared with one of the finest academic preparations in the state. (See the photo gallery HERE).

 

The ceremony at the Mt. Vernon High School Hancock Health Stadium began the future of some very excited seniors. Highlights of the evening included the band performing the prelude as graduates filed into their seats, followed by opening remarks by Assistant Principal Stan Wilkison.  

 

The salutatorian address was given by Dylan Cole and the valedictorian address was by Keian Gatewood. The MVHS Commencement Choir sang, followed by the Symphonic Band and the the Wind Ensemble.  The top academic students in the class received their diplomas first, followed by the rest of their classmates in alphabetical order.

  5. Ryan Strantz

  6. Cleo Mills

  7. Vicky Chen

  8. Ben LaBelle

  9. Paige Boxberger

  10. Emme Longman

 

Soon after, Mr. Greg Roach, Principal of Mt. Vernon High School, addressed the Class of 2019 encouraging the seniors to make a difference, look to give back and to choose what is right.  Mr. Roach then presented the Class of 2019 to Superintendent Dr. Jack Parker.

Principal Roach gave the final farewell, which was followed by the senior student class recessional. Congratulations Class of 2019! Go and enjoy your bright futures!
