MVCSC will open a new general education Mini-Marauder preschool on August 1 for all children ages 3-5. The cost is appealing at only $125/week, which is anticipated to be the most cost-effective price-point in the area. MVCSC is now accepting enrollment applications which is linked HERE and can also be found at www.preschool.mvcsc.k12.in.us.
The preschool will be housed at the MVCSC Administrative Service Center at 1806 W. State Road 234, Fortville, IN 46040. The Mini-Marauder Preschool will follow the MVCSC school calendar linked HERE, and the hours will be 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Mini-Marauder Preschool will provide high quality preschool services to all children, including children who are eligible for early childhood special education services. Our staff is committed to preparing young learners through caring, consistent, compassionate, and respectful relationships established with each child. Our goal is for each child to develop a positive self-concept, ability to problem solve, and ability to negotiate with peers by engaging in a variety of hands-on, language rich, learning experiences in order to establish the foundation for lifelong learning.
The educational program that prepares the Mini-Marauders for kindergarten is called the “Early Learning Academy.” By educating through discovery learning and play, each child can grow and learn on their own level, at their own pace. An educational atmosphere is provided through the “Early Learning Academy” where children can feel comfortable to explore every aspect of the room and learn through discovery.
Children who are eligible to receive early childhood special education services are included within the Mini-Marauder Preschool. Children who qualify for early childhood special education services will receive the services outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP) at no cost to the family. Early childhood special education services are provided by licensed personnel, and may include: speech/language therapy, occupational/physical therapy, school social work services, and services provided by an early childhood special education teacher.
The Mini-Marauder Preschool strives to provide each family and child with the opportunity to be themselves, regardless of race, religion, sex, or other financial or social variations. Each child will have the opportunity for growth intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
MVCSC strives to provide all students with hands-on experiences to prepare them for their futures. Mt. Vernon High School students who are enrolled in child development classes (students planning to become teachers) have opportunities to observe, provide lesson plans, and implement activities at the preschool. MVCSC wants all students to receive the best educational experience to prepare them for successful careers.
