MVHS Launches Online Radio Station

MVHS Launches Online Radio Station

For over a decade, Mt. Vernon has provided students with high tech opportunities in the field of digital animation classes and computer modeling. From experiences in motion capture technology to 3D printing to virtual reality headsets, Mt. Vernon students are graduating well prepared for their high tech digital future.

Mt. Vernon High School recently expanded its digital media lineup by adding an Internet radio station called Marauder Radio. The ad-free station is produced in the MVTV studio and listeners can log on to hear the latest Marauder news, listen in on one of the MV Spotlight interviews, and listen to some great music. To access Marauder Radio click here or simply go to the Mt. Vernon High School homepage, click on the "Fine Arts & Clubs" dropdown, select "MVTV News, Radio, & High Tech", and click the Marauder Radio image.  Marauder Radio will be broadcast Monday - Friday from 7-9 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. during April and May.

From the virtual world to the real world…students interested in learning live-capture digital video production have a state-of-the-art television recording studio available to them where they produce a live show called MVTV. Both the computer animation lab and the television studio are used year-round. The high school students use the facilities from August through May and then in June and July the two high-tech digital labs are used for summer youth workshops.
