Corporate Announcements

MVCSC Food Pantry is open to the public on Thursday, April 2nd from 4-6 p.m.  Parents may enter the high school through door #12 located on the west side of the school.  Click HERE for additional information.

Current 5th - 11th grade athletes who want to play sports for their school next year can attend the Methodist Sports Medicine Physicals Night on Wednesday, April 8th from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the MVHS Main Gym and get their physical and all paperwork completed.  See details here.

Information for Potential Transfer Students for the 2014-2015 Second Semester and the 2015-2016 School Year

Kindergarten Registration Information for the 2015-2016 school year is now available, and the registration dates have been set: April 20, 21 and 22.  It's important to register so schools can staff enough teachers to keep class sizes small.

  • Attention Seniors:  Three scholarship deadlines are right after we return from spring break.  They are for:

  • FCCLA attended the State Leadership conference the past three days showcasing their classroom and community service projects they have completed this school year.  FCCLA also participated in three National Events.
  1. Congratulations to Mt. Vernon FCCLA chapter for receiving the highest honor at FCCLA State Conference the GOLD Honor Chapter Award.
  2. The following students are National Qualifiers for Indiana; the highest honor in  FCCLA STAR projects and have the opportunity to attend the National FCCLA Leadership Conference this summer in Washington DC : Zach Boulanger, Aaron Eason, Kaylee Lyons, Alex Boulanger
  3. The following students competed in State projects and received Gold Awards: Maddison Hahn, Ayden Millspaugh, Alexie Evans, Brooke Ford, Hailey Patton, Zach Boulanger, Aaron Eason, Kaylee Lyons.

  • Ball State University is hosting the 6th District Congressional Leadership Academy on Saturday, April 11th.  MVHS can send 2 juniors.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Sands before you leave for spring break.
  • Are you having trouble with Spanish? Plan to attend Senora Laughlin's SRT every Thursday in room A108 for help with Spanish. AP Spanish students will be there to assist you... and it is free tutoring!
  • Not only are books more precious than gold, but they can also help you be pinch proof this St. Patrick's day! So stop by the Media Center before Spring Break to check out a green book. Be seen reading green!  Thomas Jefferson once said, "I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have." So take Thomas Jefferson's advice am make more luck for yourself by working hard during this last week of the quarter!
  • Baseball and softball sign ups for the Mt. Vernon Optimist program registration runs thru April 9th. .  Baseball is for kids aged 13 thru 18. The cost for registration is $90 now thru March 30th and $105 from April 1st thru the 9th. Softball sign ups for girls 14 and under.  Registration for softball runs thru March 7th and the cost is $90 from now until Feb 28th and $105 from March 1st thru March 8th.
