Miss Kane's Classes

Information Technology at Mt. Vernon High School

Welcome

Information Technology plays a critical role in our state, and will continue to do so in the future. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has identified Computer Science as the area of growth for the 2006-2016 period. A solid background in computing will serve our students well, and additional qualifications and college credits are available through classes at Mount Vernon High School.

See Indiana State approved course titles and description for Business and Information Technology, and the Pathways program, which we are offering through several of our classes here at MVHS.

About the Teacher

teacher I graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science. I always had a special interest in education, and, after working for IBM and Washington Mutual Bank for years as a computer programmer, I studied at Indiana University to become a Math and Computer Science teacher. I taught Math here at Mount Vernon, and then joined the High Tech Academy. I went back to Indiana University to complete a Masters in Science Education, and continue to work with teachers from IU to keep up with the trends in Computer Science, so that I can best prepare my students for their future in the work force and academic field. I teach part-time at Indiana University and also at Indiana Tech.
