The Thank-an-Educator Program is an important part of Mt. Vernon Education Foundation (MVEF) and the work that we all do as a community. Each holiday season, MVEF gives families an opportunity to thank their teachers, coaches and all school employees with a personalized certificate and a tax-deductible gift to the MVEF. The MVEF has supported all Mt. Vernon staff and students by awarding over $200,000 in staff-requested grants since 2008.
Certificates are $10 per nomination or $50 per school. All donations are tax deductible. Click HERE to make an online Thank an Educator nomination, or download the application HERE. Deadline is Dec 16 to submit the form through your school office, mail or email (email@example.com). When you thank a teacher, you give them a gift of gratitude and a gift of fulfilling the wishes of teachers and students through the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation.
Here are a few comments from former recipients:
What that says to me is that I have again achieved my personal goal. My one goal has always been to make a difference in the life of a student through learning and mentoring. When a parent takes the time out of their day to say thank you it means A LOT! I know I am on the right track and I remain energized to do it all over again. For me this job is all about fostering relationships. -Ms. W MES
They mean so much to me that I have framed each one and hung them in a special place in my craft room at home. I am regularly reminded of cherished times working with those students, and that I helped make a learning impact on their lives. -Mrs. H FES
The Thank-an-Educator certificates are some of the most prized gifts that I have received from the families of my students. They truly make me feel appreciated and all the hard work worth it. :) -Mrs. M 8th Grade Academy
To receive a Thank-an-Educator certificate is always a very memorable moment for me personally. I work hard to build a rapport with students all year long, so to be remembered by a former student in this way only validates the time and effort...it is very rewarding. -Mrs. Z MVHS
