Superintendent's Advisory Council

Superintendent's Advisory Council's (SAC)


PURPOSE:  It is the purpose of the Superintendent’s Advisory Council (formerly named the Corporation Improvement Council -CIC) to provide the school constituency the opportunity to have input into the corporation's decision-making process, toward the achievement of district-wide goals. Specifically, the SAC exists to:

       A.  Enhance communication between the Superintendent and school patrons.

       B.  Serve as a sounding board for new ideas.

       C.  Help the Superintendent and school board anticipate and/or identify community concerns and potential solutions to those issues.

       D.  Assist with planning issues surrounding the implementation of change.


AUTHORITY:  The SAC serves as an advisory group to the Superintendent and is not a decision making body for the district. The SAC meets on a regular basis with the Superintendent to review and discuss district topics such as; operations including finance, school facilities, curriculum, student activities, long range planning, and other areas as necessary. 


MEETINGS: The SAC will hold a minimum of one meeting every quarter during the school year. More frequent meetings may be scheduled as the need arises.

MEMBERSHIP: The Superintendent and members appointed by the Superintendent from nominations submitted as follows:

         A.  One nomination from each building.

         B.  One student body representative

         C.  Additional nominations from the Superintendent.

         D.  As a vacancy occurs, the appropriate person/group will be notified by the superintendent and will nominate a replacement immediately.
