Academics aren’t the only aspect taught at the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. Philanthropy, kindness, and reaching out to those in need are some of the other lessons that students are taught from early childhood to graduation.
Recently, Hurricane Harvey struck Texas and devastated the homes and lives of the many people living there. All of the schools partnered with Midwest Food Bank, the Salvation Army, and all Hancock County Schools in collecting donations for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The amount of goods that were donated throughout the six schools was immeasurable, but pictures speak for themselves.
Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation provides tools throughout each student’s school career that help develop good citizenship and setting a good example to others about helping those in need. Character runs strong at Mt. Vernon!
