Thank-an-Educator is an important program for the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation (MVEF) and the educational opportunities they provide for Mt. Vernon students and staff. Give thanks to teachers, bus drivers or favorite staff member for only $10; deadline is Friday, May 19.
Print the Thank-An-Educator form HERE.
When you honor a Mt. Vernon staff member through the MVEF Thank-An-Educator program, they will receive a certificate of appreciation, personalized with a message from the student. The student's name and honoree's name will be posted on MVEF's website (www.mtvernonfoundation.org) and in their annual report.
The $10 gift to MVEF will directly benefit the teachers and students of Mt. Vernon through grants awarded by the foundation. MVEF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, so donations are tax-deductible and eligible for corporate matching programs.
For questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call Renee at 765-482-6313.
Here are a few quotes from teachers who previously received a Thank-An-Educator certificate from a student:
Teaching isn't about praise. We don't get pep rallies or thunderous applause when we walk in a room. We aren't raking in the big bucks. We don't generally get compared to heroes. And that's ok. That's not why teachers teach. However, when I get a thank an educator award from one of my students, it's a way for me to know that I've made a difference. I may not be able to fix all of the world's problems, but I can help a student. I can make their world a little better or easier or brighter and knowing I've done that makes me want to work even harder and reach even more students.

The Thank-An-Educator program at the end of the year comes at a time when the extra encouragement of one of the awards goes a long way in helping teachers realize their impact and have a strong finish to the school year.

I honor and respect the senior TAE's. I like getting the personal message as a reminder to how I influenced or connected with them. As a middle school teacher, it means a lot to me to be remembered.
