Indiana Department of Education Recognizes Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation as a School of Promising Practice
Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation (MVCSC) has been recognized by the Indiana Department of Education as a school of Promising Practice in the area of International Exposure to Students. MVCSC’s Promising Practice is one of 200 education or wrap-around service programs to be recognized by the Department in honor of Indiana’s bicentennial celebration. Dr. Shane Robbins, Superintendent of Schools, states, “We are proud to be recognized by the Indiana Department of Education for our efforts to broaden students’ world views. There is much to be gained from learning about other cultures. The international focus Mt. Vernon is pursuing can provide multi-faceted opportunities for students and staff. “
These identified Promising Practices, like Mt. Vernon’s International Exposure, are student-centered and focus on positively impacting students through innovative programming and activities that provide a high-quality learning environment and experience. MVCSC’s Promising Practice of International Exposure to Students will be shared with educators across the state of Indiana as an example of best practices that are having a positive impact on Hoosier students.
