Mt. Vernon High School (MVHS) has had numerous accomplishments and awards that showcase a few of many successes, both academically and through extra-curricular activities.  Here are just a few of the most recent acknowledgements:
 

  • Top 100 Schools- FAFSA Completion - 2017
  • Recognized by the IDOE as One of 50 Schools with 30% or More of the 2016 Class Achieving a 3 or Higher on at Least One AP Exam
  • Ranked in Top 30 IN High Schools by US News & World Report (out of 412 high schools) –2014 & 2015

  • One of the First High Schools in the Country to Have a 3D Printer and is Currently the Only High School in the Country to Have an Elumen’s Vision Dome

  • High-Tech Academy Offers State-of-the-Art Television Studio and Computer Animated Design Courses

  • Each Student has Their own Chromebook

  • Indiana Department of Education - Four Star School –2015, 2014, 2013, 2012

  • 2015-2016 Graduation Rate- 95%

  • Indiana Department of Education Rated MVHS an "A" in 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012

  • Offered 14 Advance Placement (AP) Courses –2016-2017

  • Offered 17 Dual Credit Courses -2016-2017

  • 2017 Seniors Earned $6,231,157,25 in Scholarships

  • Band State Qualifier-2016 (95% of Students Received a Gold Rating), 2015, 2014, 2017

  • Co-Ed Cheerleaders Won State - 2014

  • Boys Cross Country Team State Finalists–2015, 2014, 2016 Semi-State Qualifiers (Boys and Girls)

  • Class 3A Girls State Basketball Champs - 2013

  • ISHDTA State Dance Champion in Pom - 2014, 3rd Place - 2017

  • MVCSC/Gleaners Food Pantry Held at MVHS (Originally 1 of 5 Schools in Indiana Selected as a School Based Pantry)
